Dandelion People 2001-2002

DANDELION PEOPLE is a series of sculptures that can be read purely organically (as filaments from a dandelion clock), or as a metaphor which considers people's journeys through life - the seed pods have been transformed into abstract male and female forms. The different materials make reference to different personalities. The wooden sculptures are light and drift slowly in the wind - turning clockwise as they fall to represent the passing of time. The resin sculpture is extremely fragile and vulnerable, whereas the aluminium sculpture is strong and directed - making a big impact on landing.

materials:
lime wood pine wood
plywood rip-stop nylon
aluminium acrylic resin
stainless steel nuts bolts
