Kith and Kin II: New Glass and Ceramics, National Glass Centre,
21 September - 31 December 2012

The Kith and Kin II exhibition brings together artworks from two creative 'families' - Glass and Ceramics. Once again we have invited 'friends' from the art world to create a diverse and often surprising take on glass and ceramics to show a breadth of contemporary work.

This time artists are featured who usually work in other mediums, and who are now exploring the potential of glass and ceramics. Much of work shown is new and was developed through 'mini residencies' here in the National Glass Centre. This was facilitated by our exceptionally skilled glass and ceramic team and in the high quality workshops in this building.

Featuring: Jennifer Jane Allinson, Steve Brown, Andrew Burton, Paul Coldwell, Graham Dolphin, Joel Fisher, Charlotte Hodes, Rob Kesseler, Magdalene Odundo and Brian Thompson. Curated by Prof. Peter Davies and Prof. Kevin Petrie, Institute for International Research in Glass and Ceramic Arts Research Centre University of Sunderland.
